“Ni de Aqui, Ni de Alla”

The series of images is part of a series called "Ni de aqui, Ni de alla". Being a first-generation Latina, It was easy to fall in love with the culture my parents surrounded me with. I've personally never been to Mexico so everything that I have learned comes from second-hand experiences. Due to the many people who share the same stories, I have observed that in a desperate need to find community, we tend to accidentally exaggerate traditions and cultural practices. We Americanize actions without even realizing that people in Mexico don't do things we view as "Mexican customs".  This is for the Mexican Americans who are still trying to be in touch with their cultural roots while being 1000 miles away.
